Is AI recommending your dental clinic?
When someone asks ChatGPT “Best dentist near me”, does your dental clinic show up — or your competitors? Find out with a free Snapshot.

The problem
Why new patients are quietly deciding inside AI answers
More and more patients ask AI before they call a dentist
A patient weighing implants or veneers asks ChatGPT who to trust — and gets a short list of names in one answer. If your practice isn't on it, that consult books somewhere else, and you never even know it happened.
The biggest cases are decided in a few names
Implants, full veneer sets, Invisalign — the patients every practice wants. An AI answer only has room for a few names, so the same handful of clinics keeps showing up — and they're first in line for the high-value consults.
You can't see what AI says about you
No dashboard shows the conversations where AI sends a patient to your competitor. In our Dallas benchmark, most of the practices we measured never appeared in a single AI answer — and most owners have no idea which side of that line they're on.
The measurement
What RecoSignal measures for dental clinics
Real customer questions, asked to ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity. We report how often you are recommended — frequency, never a made-up rank.
Whether ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity actually name your practice when a patient asks for a dentist. Each engine answers 30+ patient-style prompts — best-of lists, implant and veneer comparisons, urgent tooth-pain requests — and every answer that mentions you is counted.
Out of all the recommendations AI hands out in your market, how many go to you — and exactly which competing clinics the engines name most often when patients ask about implants, veneers and Invisalign.
Which sources each engine actually cited when it named a dentist — your own pages included. In our Dallas benchmark, 1,085 of the 1,367 citations behind dental recommendations (79%) pointed at practices' own websites; the biggest outside platforms were Healthgrades (61), Zocdoc (59) and Yelp (45). You get your market's version of that list, not a vendor's guess.
Your single biggest gap, so you know what to fix first — the full prioritized roadmap to close it comes with the paid Action Plan. And we keep the receipts: every raw AI answer is stored, so any figure in your report can be traced back to the exact response it came from.
Not the same as SEO
Ranking #1 for "dentist near me" doesn't make AI say your name
For years, winning new patients online meant one thing: climbing Google's results for "dentist near me." AI visibility is a different contest. When a patient asks ChatGPT, Gemini or Perplexity who to see for implants or a chipped tooth, the assistant either says your practice's name or it doesn't — and page one of Google is no guarantee it will.
That's because AI assistants don't show ten blue links. They answer in plain sentences and name a few practices, built out of text they can retrieve — and most of that text is yours. Across the 1,367 citations behind the dental answers in our Dallas benchmark, 79% pointed at practices' own websites; Healthgrades, Zocdoc and Yelp together accounted for 165. A page that states, in plain words, which treatments you do and which plans you take is the raw material of the answer. We've seen the gap in a real, published example: Dentistry of Miami scored 3.9 out of 100 in its Snapshot, while its top competitor was recommended 6.5 times more often — 39 mentions to 6.
Before you spend anything on AI visibility, know this: no one can promise your practice a spot in an AI answer — not for implants, not for emergency searches, not for anything. Replies shift with how the patient phrases the question, who else is competing for it, and the model itself. What you can control are the specific gaps that keep AI from saying your name — and closing them, one by one, is exactly what the roadmap is built for.

FAQ
Questions, answered
Do you test the treatments that actually drive my revenue, like implants and Invisalign?
Yes. The prompts mirror how real patients talk to AI: best-of questions, comparisons, urgent-care requests, and treatment-specific asks about implants, veneers, Invisalign, cosmetic work and emergency dentistry. The set is generated from your practice category and your city, so you see how AI answers the dental questions patients in your market are actually asking.
I have great Google reviews. Doesn't that mean AI already recommends me?
Not necessarily. Reviews help, but they are not what most of the answer is built from. In our Dallas benchmark, 79% of the citations behind AI's dental recommendations pointed at practices' own websites — the pages that state, in plain text, which treatments you do and which plans you take. Directories and review platforms corroborate that; they can't invent it. The only way to know where you stand is to measure, and that's what the free Snapshot shows: whether AI names your practice, how your share compares to competitors, and your single biggest gap.
How visible are dental practices in AI answers right now?
Mostly invisible. In July 2026 we measured 262 dental practices across the Dallas metro area with 30 patient-style prompts across ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity. 177 of the 262 — 68% — never appeared in a single answer. The average visibility score was 1.6 out of 100, and even the best practice scored just 27.0. That's bad news for most practices, and a real opening for the ones that move first.
I'm a cosmetic or implant-focused practice, not general dentistry. Does this still apply?
Even more so. High-value treatments are exactly where patients research hardest before booking, and where they ask AI for a short list of who to trust. In our Dallas benchmark, an average AI answer named only about 6 practices. If you specialize in implants, veneers or orthodontics, the question is whether you're one of the few names in that answer — the Snapshot tells you.
