AI Visibility of Dallas Medspas: What ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity Actually Recommend
When someone wants Botox, fillers, or laser hair removal, they increasingly ask an AI assistant where to go instead of scrolling through search results. So we ran a test. On July 7, 2026, we asked ChatGPT, Gemini, and Perplexity the kinds of questions real clients ask about medspas in the Dallas metro area. Then we counted which medspas the AI actually recommended.
Two findings stand out. First: 32 of the 83 Dallas-area medspas we tracked — 39% — never appeared in a single AI answer, not once across 138 answers. Second, unlike the dental market we measured the same day, a visible front-runner already exists: the best-scoring medspa reached 32.9 out of 100, while the market average was just 4.1. Early leaders are forming while four in ten medspas stay invisible.
This page walks through what we measured, what the numbers say, and where the limits of this data are. Every number below comes from real AI answers we collected and stored, so the results can be rechecked.

Methodology
We wrote 30 prompts that sound like real clients, not marketers. They covered five kinds of questions: "best of" requests, comparisons between medspas, specific treatments (like Botox, fillers, or laser packages), "near me" searches, and time-sensitive requests. We ran the prompts across three AI engines — ChatGPT, Gemini, and Perplexity — which gave us 138 valid answers.
Who is in the tracked group: 83 medspas across the Dallas metro area — the city plus suburbs like Plano and Frisco — every medspa we could confirm as a real, operating business, including every one the AI engines themselves named in their answers. We measure the metro on purpose: when a client asks about "Dallas", the AI answers with names from the whole metro, so a narrower sample would miss the actual competition.
From those answers, we parsed 847 individual recommendations naming 306 distinct medspas. Each recommendation is an exact quote from the answer text — no guessing, no interpretation. We store the raw answers in full, so every number on this page can be recomputed from the original data.
One thing we measure on purpose: frequency, not rank. AI assistants don't have a fixed ranking the way Google search results do — the same question can get a different answer tomorrow. So the honest metric is how often a medspa gets recommended across many realistic questions — that is what the visibility score reflects.
A note for owners who already invest in SEO: this is a different measurement. SEO is about where you rank on Google. This benchmark is about whether AI assistants recommend you when a client asks. A medspa can do well on one and be invisible on the other.
Results
AI assistants hand out plenty of names in this market: an average answer recommended about 6.1 medspas. There is room on that shortlist — yet four in ten tracked medspas never claimed a spot on it.
Scores split the market in two. Across the 83 tracked medspas, the average visibility score was 4.1 out of 100 and the median was 2.0 — the typical Dallas-area medspa barely registers in the conversation. At the same time, the best-scoring medspa reached 32.9 out of 100. Someone is already collecting a meaningful share of AI recommendations while most of the market hovers near zero.
Concentration is still moderate: the 5 most-mentioned medspas together captured 15% of all recommendations, and the engines named 306 distinct medspas overall. In plain terms: as of July 7, 2026, the race in Dallas medspa is on — front-runners exist, but nothing close to a lock. The window to build visibility before the leaders consolidate is open now.

Limitations
- This is a snapshot from one day — July 7, 2026. AI answers change over time, and the same question can get different answers on different runs.
- We used 30 prompts. They cover common client questions, but different wording could surface different medspas. The numbers describe our sample, not every possible question.
- We tracked 83 medspas, while the AI engines named 306 distinct names — including chains, businesses outside the metro, and names we could not verify as real medspas. Our percentages apply to the tracked group, not to every medspa in the Dallas area.
- Visibility measures how often a medspa is recommended by AI — it says nothing about the quality of treatments a medspa provides.
- Nothing here is a guarantee. No one can promise that an AI assistant will recommend a specific business — anyone who promises that isn't being honest. Closing specific gaps raises the probability; it does not guarantee the outcome.
